Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor of Teacher Education/Distance Education Generalist.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications:  $52,250 - $60,500; 11-month position.

Degree Requirement:  MA required for Instructor.  PhD or EdD required for Assistant Professor.  ABD considered.

Required Qualifications:

Lewis-Clark State College seeks applicants for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor for its Pathways for Accelerated Certification and Endorsement (PACE) program which serves online students and teachers working under alternative certification agreements in both rural and urban areas of Idaho.  Applicants must be able to work collaboratively to develop and deliver a non-traditional teacher education program that prepares professionals to meet the challenges of teaching in the 21st century. Successful candidates should have a Master's degree, PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, Distance Education or a related field prior to appointment date. ABD considered. Experience in P-12 education is required. Candidates should also have proven ability to develop and deliver online courses. In addition, successful candidates should be committed to program assessment and to effective supervision of student teachers.  Regular overnight travel is required.  This is an 11 month position. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience working with non-traditional students or teachers pursuing alternative routes to certification.  Able to develop and implement new curriculum.  Active in relevant professional organizations. Experience providing academic advising for Teacher Education majors.

Responsibilities:

Teach 24 adjusted credit hours per academic year with summer teaching load and supervision as assigned by Division Chair (teaching assignments may include online instruction); Supervise student teaching internships in the schools; advise Teacher Education majors; be actively involved in relevant professional organizations; develop a record of publications, presentations, and grants; participate in Teacher Education program assessment; serve on division and campus committees; work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.  Develop and manage online and remote delivery of teacher education courses, including intensive summer sessions.
