Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of CTE Program Assistant for Career & Technical Education.

Salary based on experience and qualifications:  $40,414 experience in CTE area

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully with internal and external partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a CTE area
  • Master's degree
  • Working knowledge of college software systems such as Ellucian, Recruit and Student Planning

Responsibilities:

The Program Assistant reports to the Dean of Career & Technical Education, and supports the Division Chairs and program faculty by reaching out to potential students interested in CTE programs, primarily in Regions I and II. Key responsibilities and activities required of the position include:

  • Build and maintain strong collaborations and communication channels with:
  • Admissions, the Transition Coordinator, and the Outreach Centers to avoid duplication of efforts
  • Division Chairs and faculty to ensure accurate knowledge about programs
  • Programs internal to LCSC that serve potential CTE students including Career & Advising Services, Workforce Training, and Dual Credit
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Admissions Office on:
  • Developing the annual CTE recruitment calendar
  • Working with high school counselors, CTE teachers, Department of Labor and Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Accompanying Admissions staff on recruitment events when appropriate, including select events in Region III (Treasure Valley)
  • Developing marketing materials and correspondence for CTE students
  • Organizing and staffing internal and external college recruitment events such as national college fairs, mini-majors fairs, SafetyFest, High School STAR, campus visits, etc.
  • Touring junior high, high school, and other community groups who specifically want to tour CTE programs
  • Recruit in all technical (CTE) classrooms in Region II and become a classroom specialist
  • Coordinate meetings with technical advisory committees and potential employers to ensure currency of industry requirements
  • Holds published office hours weekly
  • Field general CTE phone and drop-in inquiries
  • Achieve and maintain competence in Ellucian, Recruit, and Student Planning; develop and maintain working knowledge of Financial Aid, Technical Competency Credit and Horizontal Alignment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Career & Technical Education
