LC State invites applications for the position of Dean of Professional Studies & Graduate Studies
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $110,000 - $115,000
Degree Required:
- Earned Doctorate degree
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory capacity within an academic environment at the level of Department Head/ Division Chair, Assistant or Associate Dean.
- A record of excellence in teaching, scholarship and administration.
- Leadership in the development of professional programs and course offerings.
- Proven experience in program level assessment and specialized accreditation.
- Qualifications suitable for tenure at a senior rank in one of the academic divisions in Professional Studies
- Experience with Graduate programming.
Responsibilities:
- The Dean oversees the administrative and academic activities of the divisions within Professional & Graduate Studies, promotes Chair and faculty development, participates in budget and personnel decision-making, and assists in securing external funding to benefit programs in Professional/Graduate Studies.
- Advises the Provost on issues relative to academic programs specifically focusing on School of Professional Studies and Graduate programming.
- Fosters excellence in instruction and programming at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Monitors assessment of programs through program review process, specialized accreditations, and surveys of graduates and employers.
- Represents area of responsibility to appropriate community and professional organizations.
- Actively participates with Student Affairs and Division personnel to recruit new students.
- With the other Deans, actively participate in implementation of the various campus plans. (Strategic, Instructional Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention plans, for example)
- Represent LC State as assigned.
