Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Special Education Instructor / Assistant Professor.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications:  $43,000 - $50,000

Degree Requirement:  MA required for Instructor position.  PhD or EdD required for rank of Assistant Professor.  ABD considered.

Required Qualifications:

Lewis-Clark State College seeks applicants for the positon of Instructor or Assistant Professor of Special Education in the Teacher education Division.  Successful candidates are innovative, creative, and engaging faculty who wish to join a team that works collaboratively to develop and deliver a teacher education program to prepare professionals to meet the challenges of teaching in the 21st century.  Successful candidates should have a Master's Degree, PhD or EdD in Special Education prior to appointment date.  ABD considered.  Experience in P-12 education is required.  Candidates should also have a proven ability to develop and deliver online courses.  In addition, successful candidates should be committed to program assessment and to effective supervision of student teachers.  Candidates are sough who are special education generalists with additional expertise in the K-8 setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supervising student teaching internships.  Able to implement new curriculum.  Potential for scholarship demonstrated by publications, presentations, or grants.  Active in relevant professional organizations.  Experience providing academic advising for Teacher Education majors.


Teach 24 adjusted credit hours per academic year as assigned by Division Chair (teaching assignments may include online instruction); Supervise student teaching internships in the schools; advise Teacher Education majors; be actively involved in relevant professional organizations; develop a record of publications, presentations, and grants; participate in Teacher Education program assessment; serve on division and campus committees; work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
